Our Story
Grande Mere Inn is a family owned and operated restaurant started in 1980 by Pete and Nancy Racine. The tradition of fine quality continues with their son Charley and his wife Tricia. The goal of the Racines has always been to provide a pleasurable dining experience; providing high quality food, friendly service, and a stunning view of Lake Michigan.
We look forward to having you dine with us soon!

Setting
Our Cozy Cottage
We have a cozy, cottage style dining room that is perched atop the Covert Ridge in Stevensville, Michigan, with a stunning view of Lake Michigan. The entire west side of our dining room has windows that overlook the Lake, and the sunsets are often spectacular. At night, one can occasionally see the lights from Chicago. Our Cranberry Bog Bar provides a cozy spot for gathering with friends for a drink or settling in for dinner.
Food & Beverage
Our Kitchen
Our dinner menu includes top quality steaks, lake perch, walleye, ribs, chicken, duck and seafood, as well as burgers and more casual fare. Soups, breads, dressings, sauces and desserts are made in house daily. We are fortunate to be located in the fruit belt of Michigan and to be on the Southwest Michigan wine trail. We avidly support our local wineries, brew makers, cheese makers and many farmers who produce a vast array of fruits and vegetables.
Service
Our Promise
We are very fortunate to have an energetic, knowledgeable, and committed staff, many of whom have worked at the Grande Mere Inn for over 20 years. This commitment and loyalty make it possible for us to provide excellent service in an energetic, friendly setting.
